It’s that time again: for “Man Versus Machine III” – the annual
competition to see if you, mere mortals, can out-forecast me (“The Machine”),
armed with my sophisticated self-created regression-based statistical model, in
predicting how many wins various baseball teams will achieve in 2013.
So, come on. Hit me with your best shot.
Take five minutes and,
more or less off the top of your head, predict how many wins various MLB teams
will have in 2013. (Obviously, if you want to take more time, or
even build your own regressions, go right ahead.)
You can pick as many
teams as you want – a minimum of 5 or up to all 30 MLB teams.
So, simply put your predicted number of wins next to
each team – using your own spreadsheet (preferably) in a format like the one
below – for a minimum of FIVE teams, up to ALL 30, or anywhere in between), and
send them to me at:
Get your predictions in by this Sunday, March 31, 8
PM.

No money on the line, just bragging rights. I’ll
be back next week with my 22nd annual Yankees preview and then a summary of my
Man Versus Machine picks and the consensus picks of all of you.
